The InterVarsity Faith@Work Mentor Portal

Why Mentoring?

Students are hungry for mentoring. They have a deep need to receive honest feedback, specific direction and appropriate support. They are aware of their inability to see into the future and understand the impact that their current choices are making. They need help in understanding how they are uniquely wired and where that wiring might make the most impact in the workplace. Additionally, they’ve been told a story that to be a “good” Christian one must enter full-time, vocational ministry, or at least something directly social like teaching. We hope to give them a vision for what it means to be dynamically alive to God and his purposes in the workplace for his kingdom to come. Finally, we believe that all people are hungry to mentor someone else. Mentoring provides a platform and opportunity for principles to come alive and stick. It can solidify someone’s beliefs and bring the most effective layer of accountability. Read More...

They are in desperate need for guidance, coaching, and a blessing. There are four sessions to our Career Coaching mentoring platform. Feel free to use all of these, or have the student pick 3.

Informational Interview

Since most students don’t know what to do after they graduate, they need opportunities to ‘try on for size’ a particular industry, field, or organization. We’d like to offer students the ability to do brief informational interviews with Faith@Work mentors.
